Rockstar Games has announced the release date of the PSP version of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on their Twitter account. The game will be out on the PSP on October 20th 2009 and will be available on UMD and as a digital download for the PSPGo! which is released on October 1st. No screen shots of the game are available yet but Rockstar says they’re “coming soon.”

Yesterday at GamesCom 2009, Sony announced the Digital Comic Store for the PSP. The new service will allow PSP owners to access a range of media on their PSP. The digital reader service will be launched with Digital Comics this December in select countries, including the U.S and regions in Europe. Have you pre-ordered your PSP Go! yet? Sony has announced that gamers who register their PSP Go! during the launch week will each receive a free digital copy of Gran Turismo for PSP. Andrew House (CEO of SCEE) announced at GamesCom that registering your PSP Go! between the 1st and 10th of October will get you a free downloadable copy of the game.

Sony has announced that the PSP will be getting new ‘mini’ titles this year, with the launch of the PSP Go! in October. The announcement was made earlier today at their GamesCom Press Conference. “Minis” is new section on PlayStation Store that offers a range of all-new downloadable games for PSP. Available exclusively via digital distribution, “minis” will have a 100MB size limit.

Interested in the PSP Go!? Check out this short video walkthrough of the upcoming PSP model courtesy of SCEA Director of Hardware Marketing John Koller. The main change if obviously the size and lack of UMD drive. The USB cable connection has also been replaced with a all-purpose connector which will be used for everything from backing up content to TV output. The PSP Go! also comes with 16GB of built-in flash memory as well as a Memory Stick Micro slot for further expansion.

LittleBigPlanet for the PSP is almost here, though it depends on which retailer you trust. Play.com has noted the release date as November 20th 2009 but Amazon has it down for October 30th 2009.
