Gaming has been growing with the female market for several years now. In fact, there number of male to female games are slowly reaching equal numbers. According to Nielsen, around 45% of active gamers are female. Even more surprising is that that PSP is more popular with female gamers, with 52% of owners being female.

The report from Nielsen shows statistics for the US market so it’s not clear how many gamers in Europe and the rest of the world are female. It’s still interesting to see the PSP is more popular with females, though.
