PlayStation Store Update for April 29th 2010

This week on the PlayStation Store, there’s not a lot available on the European Store. 2010 FIFA World Cup is available to purchase from both stores and Europe has a new minis title, which the US has six new titles. The US Store also has a selection of premium XMB themes and the European store has a new playable demo. Check out the list of new content below.

Digital Comics Update for April 29th 2010

This week on the PSP Comics Store you will find the return of Zombies vs Robots Aventure. For the Star Trek fans out there, a new series debuts this week, Star Trek: McCoy. Follow Leonard McCoy, Doctor of Space Medicine, and his dangerous assignments in strange distant worlds. Popular series Vampire Hunter D, Atomic Robo Vol. 2 and The Lexian Chronicles also continue this week.

New Version of Media Go Announced

Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced a new version of the Media Go software for the PC, bring the current version to v1.40. The free application allows users to manage their PSP and PSPgo systems as well as access the PlayStation Store to download games, videos and other content.

Digital Comics Update for April 22nd 2010

Last week’s release of the Kick Ass comics proved hugely popular on the Comic Store. This week, you can find Brian Michael Bendis’ Eisner Award winning “Powers”. From IDW we see the start of a new series “Dead, She Said”, written by Steve Niles and drawn by industry legend Bernie Wrightson, the series follows Detective Coogan who wakes up dead one morning and then sets out to find his murderer.

This week on the PSP Store, a number of games have been reduced on the European store. On both stores there are a number of new downloadable games available for purchase and new minis titles – the US has five new minis titles available for purchase. Fat Princess for PSP Delayed

April 21st, 2010

If you were waiting for a fistful of cake, you may have to wait a little longer. The release of Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake for the PSP has been pushed back according to recent reports – but only by a week. The game was expected to be released next week, on April 27th 2010, but has now been moved to a May 4th release.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Collectors Edition Revealed

North America will be getting a exclusive collectors edition of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. GameStop has revealed that the collector’s edition at $49.99, and contains not only a copy of the game, but it will also include a 35-40 page exclusive artbook.

PSP M4M Archive Restored

Some of you may have noticed that our PSP M4M Magazine Archive was down for some time. Episodes 1 through to 25 were corrupted on our server, preventing people from accessing the issues. PlayStation Room for PSP Scrapped

April 16th, 2010

The PlayStation Home equivalent for the PSP, PlayStation Room, has been scrapped according to Sony.  The service was first announced at TGS 2009 last September, allowing users to interact with each other in a virtual world similar to PlayStation Home. The official site stating that all development of the service has been cancelled, bringing the closed beta to an end.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker – a Field Guide

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is almost here, exclusive to the PSP. The game pick up where Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater left off, with Naked Snake (Solid Snake’s father) returning as the lead role. The game is set in 1974’s Central America, in a war-weary time at the tail end of the Vietnam Conflict, exploring the philosophical and political ramifications of war as commerce, as well as its longterm deleterious effects on society, the economy, and ourselves.
