- Operation of the UMD drive has been improved to address cases in which the UMD drive occassionally suspends and fails to reload the data. Updating to system software to version 3.73 will resolve the issue.

Information that was displayed in [Certificate Utility] can be checked by the following method: select the icon of the game you want to display information for, press the TRIANGLE button, and then select [Information] from the options menu.

- Thumbnail images of videos that are stored in the 'VIDEO' folder of Memory Stick Duo media are now supported.
- The following types of files can now be played in the 'VIDEO' folder: MPEG-4 AVC(H.264) video Main Profile (AVC CABAC) files of the following sizes: 720 X 480, 352 X 480, or 480 X 272
Note: Depending on the data type, some files cannot be played. You cannot choose the thumbnail image for AVI format video files. Only JPEG files with resolution of less than 160 x 200 pixels and a file size of 200 KB or less can be used for thumbnail images.

- Video can now be displayed correctly when an external tuner is selected in [LocationFree™ Player].
Affects LocationFree™ base station (a Sony product sold separately) model numbers LF-B1 (sold in North America/Taiwan/Korea) and LF-X11 (sold in North America). (Refer to the instruction manual for your LocationFree™ base station to locate the model number.) The issue that has been addressed does not affect LocationFree™ base stations sold in Japan or Europe.

- Macromedia® Flash® content can now be displayed in [Internet Browser].
You must perform an activation procedure under [System Settings] to enable Flash® content to be displayed.
The system supports Macromedia® Flash® Player 6; however, some features are not supported.
- [Connection Settings] has been added as a setting under [Settings] in [Internet Browser] > [Tools].
- Audio content from [RSS Channel] can now be saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media.
- [Automatic] has been added as an option under [Rate] in the control panel of [LocationFree™ Player]. For details on the LocationFree™ Base Station, visit http://www.sony.com/locationfree/ownerslounge/psp.

- A new file extension has been added to playable AAC formats.

- Music data in WMA (Windows Media® Audio) format can now be played under [Music]. (This applies to music saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media.)
- WMA9 Professional, WMA9 Lossless and copyright-protected WMA files are not supported.
- Note that you must activate the [Enable WMA Playback] setting to play music data in WMA format.

- [Enable WMA Playback] has been added as a setting under [System Settings].
- A connection to the Internet is required for the one-time activation of this setting. Note that no personal information is collected during the activation process. For details, refer to the user agreement that must be accepted as part of the activation process.
