Firmware History

PS3 System Software Ver. 4.90

The PS3 has received new a minor firmware update, updating the system software to v4.90. Despite the console being discontinued for several years, Sony is continuing to update the console. The last firmware update for the PS3 was nine months ago, in May 2022.

You can find the release notes for the latest update below. You will need a minimum 200MB of free space on the PS3 Hard Disk Drive (or removal media) to download and install the update.
