Like the PS4 and PS3, there is a distinct lack of casino games on the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV, which comes as a disappointment to fans of this genre. Most casino games are either focused on mobile devices or PC, but it’s surprising that the PS Vita isn’t included in this list – after all, it is a portable console.
Unfortunately, the closest the PS Vita comes to casino content is in the form of a pinball table and a installable theme. Those who play video poker at redflushcasino.com would be disappointed at these options, and unfortunately, there is a not a lot that can be done to resolve this.
The PS4 has The Four Kings Casino and Slots, which is almost like PlayStation Home on the PS3, with a pure casino games focus. Gamers can enjoy the most popular casino games like Texas Hold’em Poker, Blackjack, Roulette, Bingo, Instant Keno, Slots and more, all from within Four Kings. You can play with up to 48 online players (depending on the game) and socialise with friends at the same time.
Unfortunately, this game is only available on the PS4 in North America. However, if you a PS4 and a PS Vita, you can make use of the PS4 version using Remote Play. Of course, you need a decent internet connection on both ends to be able to play. If you own a first-generation 3G PS Vita, part of the connectivity will already be in place for you, thanks to the SIM card slot.
The only other options for the PS Vita, as mentioned above, are the theme and pinball table, and Red Flush Online Casino. Starting with the theme called “Casino: Lady Luck”, which will cost you $2.99, you will be able to customise the look of your home screen. The theme includes various versions of the beautiful blonde woman that features in the theme. Unfortunately, it’s not a dynamic theme like it’s PS4 counterpart.
The final option on the PS Vita is the “High Roller Casino” Pinball Table, which is an add-on table to Pinball Arcade. The add-on is cross-buy with the PS3 game, so you only have to purchase it once to be able to play it on both consoles.
The High Roller Casino table puts players in the roll of a high stakes gambler with money to burn. Conceptualized by Jon Norris and designed by Keith P. Johnson, this awesome game from Stern allows players to experience all of the glamour of a real Las Vegas casino.
Featuring gorgeous graphics and spectacular audio effects, this table has a deep rule set with four different 4-Ball Multi-Ball modes and six of the most popular casino games (Mason Jones produces them) played in real casinos. These games include Blackjack, Poker, Hi-Lo and Craps. The Playfield even includes a functioning Roulette Wheel and Slot Machine.
Besides the games and themes discussed above, there is not much else that would appeal to fans of casino games. It’s a real shame that more developers and games companies aren’t creating games for this market. For the moment, fans will have to turn to mobile devices to get their casino fix.
